The Syrian Young Entrepreneurs Association (“SYEA”) has organised a lecture with entrepreneur Habib Hadad, American resident and founder of the YAMLI.com website.

The “YAMLI” website is the first search engine through which users are able to search across the internet in Arabic, even if their computers do not allow them to type in that language.

Mr. Hadad began his lecture by speaking about entrepreneurship and his personal experience in that area, coming together with SYEA’s mission that it be a forum for dialogue and exchange of national and emigrate experiences, and that it offer successful experiences for Syrian youth in order to stimulate their entrepreneurial thinking and thus contribute in raising their personal and professional capabilities in the economy on the domestic and international levels.

The Syrian Young Entrepreneurs Association (“SYEA”) has announced an advertising initiative for a National Day for Entrepreneurship on the 13 January every year, with the support of a group of civil, private, and government actors, including the Association of Businesspeople, University of Qalamoun, the Mawrid Foundation, the Bidayya Foundation, the Syrian Association for the Environment, the Syrian Agency for Family Planning, the Syrian Centre for Business and Institutions, the Ministry for Social Affairs and Work, and Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs, Mr. Abdullah Al-Dardari.

The Syrian Young Entrepreneurs Association (“SYEA”) will convene a meeting in its head office at 6:00 p.m. sharp, 16 December 2008, bringing together a number of its partners, including some ministries, NGOs, UN agencies and a number of supporters of SYEA’s programs.

The Association will convene a press conference in its head office on Wednesday 10:00 a.m., 17 December 2008, to launch the National Day for Entrepreneurship on 13 January 2009, which coincides with the fifth anniversary of SYEA’s founding. This day will be accompanied by numerous activities over the week, which will also see the launching of a number of entrepreneurial projects.
